Expert French Teacher with a Passion for Language
My passion for languages led me to earn a PhD in Linguistics and teach French in school, language centers and privately in London and New York. With years of teaching experience and a deep understanding of how languages work, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges language learners face.
I know that real progress isn’t just about memorizing rules, vocabulary or having scripted conversations from textbooks. As a teacher, I’ve seen students master grammar only to struggle with real-world conversations. Without a clear plan, meaningful conversation practice, and relevant learning materials, language learning can feel slow and frustrating.
A Linguist, a Teacher and a Language Learner Too
I am a linguist and a teacher, but I’m also a language learner who’s spent over 10 years as an expat. I know what it’s like to waste time on things that aren’t useful -wondering why you’re memorizing animals when you need to understand the cashier at the store. I’ve also experienced the anxiety of speaking, the awkwardness of asking people to repeat themselves for the third time and the frustration of not being able to fully express myself. It’s disorienting to feel disconnected from your personality, humor, and natural way of interacting in another language.
Why I Created Studie
I created Studie to offer French learners a personalized experience where they can truly feel supported and guided by a teacher who understands their unique needs. Whether online or in Anglet, I design fully personalized learning plans that not only focus on meaningful practice but also offer continuous support. This ensures that every lesson is directly relevant, practical, and adapted to your real-life needs. With guidance at every step, you’ll gain confidence, find motivation, and build a learning routine that actually works for you - inside and outside our lessons.
